Around 7:30 p.m. Harrison Township fire crews were called to the 4100 block of Idle Hour Circle to reports of a fire alarm at an apartment complex, according to Harrison Twp. Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Nangle.
When crews arrived on the scene they saw flames coming through the roof and multiple residents trying to evacuate the complex.
One resident was rescued by Harrison Township fire crews and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies. They were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation injuries, Nangle said.
News Center 7 previously reported Montgomery County regional dispatch said two people were taken from the scene to the hospital. Nangle clarified that only one was hospitalized and there was a miscommunication between crews on scene and dispatch.
