“We want to thank everyone that within the past 24 hours has reached out to us regarding some dogs that were in danger at a home in Dayton,” The Humane Society of Greater Dayton said in a statement Tuesday, “We appreciate all of you who are our eyes and ears in the community when it comes to neglectful circumstances.”

The Humane Society said once they were notified of the situation they were able to send a humane agent to the scene to assist.

“As a no-kill animal welfare agency, please rest assured that the dogs are now safe and receiving the care and attention they need,” the Humane Society said.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone would be facing criminal charges in connection to the case.

Once the dogs are found to be healthy they will be made available for adoption, the Humane Society said.
