Multiple firefighters, medics, and police were all called to the crash in the area of Wayne Avenue and Wilmington Avenue around 4:05 p.m.

Crews on scene told News Center 7 that four people were injured, including two people who were inside of the apartment at the time of the crash. The severity of the injuries ranged from “mild to moderate.”

Twenty people, all the occupants in the building, will be displaced for at least the night and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. A building inspector has been requested to check the stability of the building.

This is not the first time a vehicle has crashed into the apartment building. In 2019, a man was hospitalized after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into the building.
