CLARK COUNTY — One student was killed and over 20 other students were taken to area hospitals after a crash involving a school bus in Clark County Tuesday morning, according to Sgt. Tyler Ross of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Around 8:15 a.m., a Northwestern Local Schools bus was heading westbound on Troy Road, which is also state route 41. A 2010 Honda Odyssey was traveling eastbound on SR-41 and went left of center into the lane of the school bus, Ross said.

Ross said the school bus attempted to take evasive action and drive onto the shoulder, but they still made contact.
The school bus traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

The Honda Odyssey traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to final rest.
According to Ross, there were 52 total children on the school bus along with the driver.
13 students were transported by medics to area hospitals for treatment and 10 students were transported by personal means to area hospitals for treatment.

22 of the students appear to have non-life threatening injuries, and one suffered what are considered to be serious injuries, Ross said.
One student succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash after being thrown from the bus, Ross said.
A spokesperson for Dayton Children’s Hospital confirmed Tuesday afternoon that they treated 20 patients who have since been released. Two children are still hospitalized.
The Honda Odyssey was driven by Hermanio Joseph, 35, of Springfield. Joseph and his passenger, Roberto Mompremier, 37, of Springfield, were transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The school bus was driven by Alfred E. Collier, 68, of Springfield. Collier suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
The school district said in a social media post that it will be dismissing students at their usual times.

At least one person is dead and over twenty children were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a school bus in Clark County.
The crash was reported in the 4100 block of Troy Road shortly before 8:15 a.m., according to initial emergency scanner traffic.
Law enforcement sources told News Center 7 at least one fatality has been reported.
A spokesperson for Dayton Children’s Hospital confirmed that they were alerted about the crash and are “actively receiving patients.”
“The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association declared a mass casualty incident, per its protocol. Dayton Children’s managed the situation with normal operations. Dayton Children’s emergency department saw 22 children from this accident. Some came by ambulance and some were brought by their parents,” the spokesperson said.
The Kettering Health Springfield Emergency Center received six patients from the crash, a spokesperson told News Center 7.
Northwestern Local Schools posted on social media Tuesday morning confirming that there has been a bus accident on one of their elementary routes.
The school district announced a parent reunification center at the German Township Firehouse located at 3940 Lawrenceville Drive.
Today is the district’s first day of school, according to its website.
