A passenger from one of the cars has been taken to a hospital via CareFlight. Root said he believes that passenger was a female. Her condition is not known.
Both of the deceased were males.
Root said the state patrol has no information right now as to how the crash occurred or who was at fault. There is no evidence drugs or alcohol were factors, he said, but the state patrol will never rule out those possibilities.
A Montgomery County Coroner’s Investigator is on scene. Both victims will be taken to the coroner’s office.
Troopers said the wreckage is so severe it looks like a bomb went off. The collision left both cars on opposite sides of the road. The vehicles believed to have been involved are a Jeep and an SUV.
