A vigil will be held this Friday for homeless people who died over the last year.
The National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Vigil will be at the Courthouse Square from 12 to 1 p.m., according to a release. This vigil is to remember the homeless who have passed away this year.
Speakers will include state and local leaders, representatives from Daybreak and other agencies.

The Target Dayton Choir will also perform, complimentary hot chocolate will be served, and there will be a memorial tree with individualized ornaments commemorating those we have lost, stated the release.
The memorial, sponsored by Dayton’s Emergency House Coalition, also helps bring attention to the homelessness problem.
