DAYTON — A new bicycle playground is opening today at Welcome Park in Dayton.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is happening at the park Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Dayton’s Mayor Nan Whaley and other city leaders will be at the grand opening.
The City of Dayton and community partners say the bicycle playground is part of a larger vision for Welcome Park, the Dayton Bike Yard.

The Dayton Bike Yard will include mountain bike trails, skill-building challenges, and a competition-level pump track, according to a news release from the city.
At today’s ribbon cutting ceremony, representatives of Dayton Children’s, Bonbright Distributors, the Carillon neighborhood, and the Miami Valley Mountain Bike Association are expected to speak.
