SPRINGFIELD — A former Clark County deputy resigned from his position after he was accused of having two inmates perform oral sex on him inside the county jail, according to court records and Clark County Sheriff Deb Burchett.

Marcus Johnson IV, 26, of Huber Heights, resigned Monday, the same day he was arrested on two counts of sexual battery, following an investigation into an incident at the Clark County Jail, Burchett said in a media release Wednesday morning.

The sheriff’s office opened an investigation Dec. 28 after receiving information about “inappropriate and potentially criminal actions” at the jail, Burchett said.

A court affidavit shows Johnson allegedly exposed himself in the jail kitchen and asked an “inmate that she perform oral sex on him.”
When questioned about that incident, Johnson reportedly admitted that he had oral sex performed on him by the inmate, the affidavit shows. The inmate denied the act happened.
During his questioning, deputies said Johnson advised he also had oral sex with another inmate in the hallway bathroom by the roll call room, according to the affidavit.
“On Dec. 23, the camera shows (the inmate) and Deputy Johnson leaving the bathroom area and Deputy Johnson reaching up and moving the camera to the right, so it would no longer show the bathroom door area,” the affidavit read.
“The sheriff’s office immediately opened a criminal investigation into these alleged actions and placed two employees on administrative leave,” Burchett said.
Johnson was arrested Monday and later resigned from his position.
Johnson’s bond was set at $20,000 on Wednesday during his initial appearance in Clark County Municipal Court. He has not guilty pleas to both charges entered by the court. Johnson remains booked in the Greene County Jail, according to records.
Johnson is the second area deputy to face jail time in recent weeks, both after investigations into alleged sexual incidents at area jails. Franco Rodio Villella, 22, was indicted in December on two third-degree felony sexual battery charges, with a contempt of court charge.
Villella is a former Montgomery County corrections officer who faces charges of sexual battery for allegedly assaulting a woman who was a jail inmate. He was arrested in Montgomery County in December.
