CINCINNATI — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a 1989 rape case.

According to the FBI, 66-year-old Frederick Louis Tanzer is charged with making false statements, and is now the prime suspect in the case.

In recent months, the FBI has collected a DNA sample from Tanzer which matches a sample taken from the scene.
Tanzer is a doctor that has practiced medicine in Ohio, Kansas and Colorado.
Details from the 1989 affidavit say the victim was raped on Aug. 1, in her condo in Cincinnati, and the attacker was there for over five and a half hours. The victim described her attacker as white with dark brown hair, around six feet tall with an athletic build.
Law enforcement is asking the public to consider details from the case and contact the FBI with any relevant information.
