NEW CARLISLE — Nine puppies are recovering from severe dehydration after they were found dumped along a country road Monday evening.
“They were probably hours away from death as dehydrated as they were,” said Bridget Moyer, volunteer and executive assistant at Pawsitive Warriors Rescue where the puppies are recovering.

A woman walking found the puppies dumped in a box along a bridge in Christiansburg, Moyer said. The puppies, which are estimated to be about 7 weeks old, were brought in and received IV fluids.
“After they got their fluids, they perked right up,” Moyer said.
