The Northridge community came together today to celebrate at a neighborhood block party.
The BBQ block party runs until 3 p.m. at the New City Church Blast Center, 2437 Ontario Ave.
“The cooking station has been non-stop,” volunteer Chris Reese said. “We’ve cooked close to 25,000 meals, served that many.”

The event has food, music, prizes and guest speakers.
“Just trying to have the community set aside everything that’s taking place, let’s just have some fun and listen to music, eat some good food,” Reese said. “It’s just a good feeling to be able to help out the community.”
Northridge was one of the communities that were caught in the path of a Memorial Day tornado.
