LOGAN COUNTY — A boating accident at Indian Lake State Park sent one person to an area hospital with critical injuries Monday, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The incident was reported on Monday morning, according to Joshua Johnson, Vice Division Commander for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, that serves several area recreational waterways including Indian Lake and Caesar Creek state parks.

The ODNR spokesperson confirmed one person was taken to a hospital with critical injuries after a boating accident. However, additional details about the incident and investigation were not available for released, the spokesperson said.

Monday’s boating accident was one of several waterway incidents that have resulted in at least three deaths in the area.
Two people died Sunday and two others, including a deputy and a child were hospitalized in Clark County after a boat capsized on a private lake. A jet skier also died at Caesar Creek State Park Sunday after they were thrown from the watercraft and later rescued by other boaters.
At least three other water rescues have been reported in the area during the Memorial Day weekend.
