BUTLER TWP. — Within the last four years, at least 25 crashes were reported on the I-75 north and I-70 west flyover ramp in Butler Twp., according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
While the number of crashes on the ramp have decreased in the last few years, it’s still a common spot for collisions.
ODOT Dayton reported the following crash statistics for the flyover:
- 2015: Nine crashes
- 2016: Seven crashes
- 2017: Five crashes
- 2018: Four crashes
Late Friday morning, ODOT crews placed a portable, digital message board on the ramp reminding drivers of the 40 mph speed advisory on the ramp.
An ODOT spokesperson said Thursday there have been discussions about additional measures to remind drivers to slow down, but specifics on what has been suggested were not available.
So far this year, at least two crashes have been reported on the ramp, including a semitrailer rollover on March 28 and another rollover involving a semi hauling 2,400 feeder pigs on Jan. 14.
