Motorcyclist dead after fiery crash in West Carrollton

WEST CARROLLTON — A person is dead after a crash in West Carrollton Friday morning.

Crews were dispatched around 8 a.m. to the 500 block of Short Street in West Carrollton on reports of a two-vehicle crash.

The crash involved a motorcycle and Buick SUV, West Carrollton Police confirmed.

A photo captured by a passerby showed the motorcycle fully engulfed in flames.

Police confirmed that the motorcyclist died in the crash.

One other person sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Central Ave. at Elm St. was closed but has since reopened, police confirmed.

The crash happened as drivers enter into the deadliest time of year on the road.

“This is a time unfortunately we see about one-third of our fatal crashes, " Sgt. Tyler Ross, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, told News Center 7′s Taylor Robertson.
