34-year-old woman dead after shooting in Dayton

DAYTON — A 34-year-old woman was shot and killed in her own home.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5, Dayton Police and medics responded around 2:20 a.m. to the 2900 block of Millicent Avenue on reports of a shooting.

A 911 call reveals the victim’s children went to their neighbors for help.

“Neighbor’s daughter ran to my house,” a 911 caller told dispatchers. “Running to my house and saying someone’s in their house shooting.”

The 911 caller told police the children who believed their mother had been shot.

As dispatchers asked for a description of the suspect, the caller reported something startling.

“He back, he back, he back, he’s at the house,” the caller said. “He went in the house.”

Police surrounded the home and officers eventually went inside.

The 34-year-old woman inside was beyond help.

The suspect, a 32-year-old man, was located and arrested.

Police did not identify the man but Montgomery County Jail records show 32-year-old Tony Jackson Jr. was arrested on Millicent Avenue and booked on suspicion of aggravated murder.

The woman killed has not been identified.

Jackson Jr. is expected to be in court later this week.
