ENGLEWOOD — UPDATE @3:05 a.m.
Police say an attempted home burglary led to a deadly shooting in Englewood Friday.

Englewood officers and medics responded to the 600 block of Overla Boulevard on reports of a shooting, according to a police spokesperson.

A man called 911 and told police he woke up to find someone trying to break into his home, the spokesperson said.
A second person went out and found the alleged suspect in the backyard. Three shots were fired.
When officers arrived, they found a man dead in the yard, the spokesperson stated.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office told News Center 7 that they responded to the scene. Identification is pending.
The shooting remains under investigation.
