Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will be at Sunday’s Dayton Dragons’ game

DAYTON — The Dayton Dragons announced Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will be in attendance for Sunday’s game at Day Air Ballpark to discuss Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio.

Since July 22, the Dragons have included books with first-game certificates for first time Dragons fans under the age of five, while supplies last, according to a media release.

When a child is enrolled, they receive a book in the mail each month until their fifth birthday.

The team will host Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio Day on Sunday with sign-up booth, first pitch, graduation ceremony, and more to highlight the program, the team said.

Montgomery County currently has an enrollment rate of over 46% of children ages five years and younger, the Dragons said.

Both Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio First Lady welcomed Dolly Parton to Ohio Tuesday in Columbus to celebrate the success of the program and declared Tuesday, “Dolly Parton Day,” in Ohio.
