MIAMI VALLEY — In-person voting will not be happening for the Ohio primary, which was extended by the state legislature amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead of in-person voting, each Ohioan registered to vote must request an absentee ballot from their board of elections and then return the completed ballot to the same address. The ballot must be postmarked by April 27, according to the Ohio Secretary of State.
Here’s what you need to do to ensure your vote is cast on time:
- Download, print and fill out an absentee ballot application form or call your county's board of elections to request a form.
- Mail your absentee ballot application to your county's board of elections:

- Each voter must receive their ballot, cast their vote, and return the ballot to the board of elections in a provided postage-paid envelope, postmarked by April 27.
