It will take place at the Wapakoneta Highway Post at the 15,000 block of Wapek-Fisher Road today from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., according to an OSHP spokesperson.

People will be able to talk with troopers and dispatchers as well as tour the facility.

A recruiter will also be on-site to assist with any recruitment questions and help with the application process, OSHP said.

As part of the anniversary activities, the patrol is also partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. The program mails children a free book each month until their fifth birthday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol began on November 15, 1933, when the first 60 patrolmen earned their commissions following training at Camp Perry and began patrolling Ohio’s roads.
