The university said junior Nathan Demian was an innocent bystander when a shooting happened on Chittenden Avenue just after 2:20 a.m., CBS affiliate WBNS said.

They added that Demian was out walking after the men’s soccer match with Wake Forest on Saturday.

Police officers found him with a gunshot wound and he was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he was described as being stable.

Investigators with the Columbus Division of Police say a driver was chasing after another vehicle and a person in one of the vehicles shot at the other.
