DAYTON — Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton held its Memorial Day Ceremony in Dayton Friday morning.

The ceremony was at the American Pride Veteran Memorial at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton on Wilmington Avenue.

“This is so important to be able to reestablish the tradition of remembering our fallen at Memorial Day,” said Bob Allen, Coordinator with American Pride. “From someone who has served it is a day of reflection, a day of remembrance those who fall, those who continue to serve, but especially those who as Abraham Lincoln once said, gave the last full measure of devotion.”

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Troy) was the featured speaker at the event. He represents Ohio’s 8th Congressional District.

“It really is impressive to see the kind of people that sign up to wear our nation’s uniform voluntarily,” Davidson said. “I’m glad we’re here in person regardless of how we have to do it.”

The event had a laying of the wreath ceremony and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard performed the Posting the Colors and the Retiring the Colors.
