TROY — It was a dream come true today in Miami County as Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County cut the ribbon to what is being called a State-of-the-Art “Hospice House.”
It’s located on the campus of Upper Valley Medical Center near Troy.
The facility will serve patients from Miami, Shelby and Darke Counties.
Construction started in January of 2020 following a successful campaign to raise 12-million dollars.
The facility has 12 inpatient rooms.

The 31,180-square foot Hospice House will serve hospice patients who require a higher level of care than they can receive at home. It will provide pain and comfort management for patients and allow family members to rest and receive support from the staff for patients at their “end of life”.
The facility will open to patients in August. Miami County’s Hospice has been serving patients since 1983.
