HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A child narrowly escaped injury after a car crashed through a Harrison Twp. home early Monday morning, according to the child’s mother.
Deputies and medics were called to the crash in the 4000 block of Fleetwood Drive around 4:20 a.m. after a car slammed into the side of the home.
A preliminary investigation found the driver of the car missed a turn in the road and plowed through the house, traveling through two bedrooms and the family room before coming to a stop at the back porch, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in media release.
The driver suffered a broken nose in the crash and was transported to Grandview Medical Center for treatment. According to deputies on the scene, the driver was believed to be drunk and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
No one inside the house was injured, however fire crews said the car came within two feet of hitting people asleep in their bed.
