DAYTON — A man has died after being stabbed on Troy Street in Dayton Sunday night, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The stabbing happened at the Troy Dairy Food convenience store at 1006 Troy Street in Dayton.

Dayton police were dispatched to the scene shortly after 6 p.m., and upon arrival crews found a 30-year-old man providing first aid to the victim who was suffering from a stab wound.
According to police, the person responsible for the stabbing of the victim was the 30-year-old man providing first aid to him.
Bart Atkins, 61, of Dayton, was identified as the man who was stabbed. He died from his injuries after being taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
The initial investigation into the incident indicates that there was a verbal altercation between the man responsible for the stabbing and a third party.
During the argument, Atkins became involved and “aggressively approached” the man who then pulled out a knife and stabbed him, according to the police department.
No arrests have been made, according to an incident report.
The information uncovered in the investigation will be shared with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges.
