Operation Santa’s Sleigh lights up Montgomery County, spreads holiday cheer to hospitalized kids

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — First responders from all over Montgomery County are getting ready to light up their cruisers for kids in the hospital.

Dec. 23 is the sixth annual operation of Santa Sleigh.

The parade will travel through six different cities in Montgomery County.

Starting at the Dayton Airport Expo Center, going through Vandalia, Butler, and Harrison Township, Dayton, Huber Heights, and Riverside.

The parade gives some holiday cheer to people who are spending the holidays in the hospital.

It includes multiple law enforcement agencies from police, firefighters, and even Santa Claus.

“I hope it brings happiness being in a children’s hospital, especially at Christmas time or any time, is a sad time. So especially at Christmas, to see all the lights and Santa’s show up, I hope it brightens their day,” Santa Claus told News Center 7.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at the Children’s Medical Center on State Route 4.

State Route 4 will be closed from 6:45-8 p.m. due to the parade.
