DAYTON — The Community Oversight Committee of the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund will host two public forums later this month to help determine how funds will be disbursed.

To date, charitable gifts to Dayton Foundation’s tragedy fund total nearly $3 million from 4,300 people, with additional pledges and contributions to be added until the fund closes, according to a release issued Wednesday by the foundation.
The forums will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Sinclair Community College, 444 W. Third St., Building 12, Dayton. Parking under Building 12 will be free for attendees.

Members of the community are invited to attend either session to share their comments and suggestions about the disbursement of the tragedy funds. A sign language interpreter will be present at both sessions.
The "draft final protocol" will be available to the public for review starting today, Sept. 9 on the Dayton Foundation's website.
