GREENE COUNTY — A bald eagle rescued by a Greene County park ranger last week after the animal got stuck along a waterway in Greene County has died, Greene County Parks & Trails announced Monday.
“According to a representative of the Glen Helen Raptor Center, where the eagle was taken for treatment, the female eagle sustained extensive soft tissue damage on the underside of her wings and keel...which ended up being too much for the eagle to overcome,” the park district said.
Officer Jason Smedley received a call about a bald eagle stuck along the water last Sunday, according to a post on the Greene County Parks and Trails’ Facebook page. The eagle was caught in a root ball near the water.
