The city council met to discuss a petition to annex land.
About 300 acres of land sits in Bethel Township near U.S. 40 in southern Miami County, but the township wants to annex it to Huber Heights.
The plan is to build over 1,000 homes and a new school in the next 15 years.
The city supports this, but neighbors are worried about the impact this will have on both schools and traffic.
They sat through a three-hour meeting and there was mixed reaction.
“It is my belief, me, that this current council has the vision to lead Huber (Heights) to a better future that would give our kids and grandkids a thriving community for future generations,” said one man.

Others voice their concerns about the impact this will have on both schools and traffic.
“I hope everybody’s listening, anyone who’s moving into Carriage Trail Two, or the acres,” a woman said. “Your children will be educated in trailers for a number of years because we are not going to build a school that is overcrowded as soon as they cut the ribbon.”
After three hours, no decision was made on the annexation.
We will continue to update this story.
