House fire that 3 people safely escaped in Dayton ruled arson

The house fire that happened early Saturday morning in the 30 block of Cambridge Avenue has been ruled an arson, according to a Dayton police incident report.

We are working to learn more details surrounding this incident.

FIRST REPORT (March 23 @ 4:05 a.m.):

Three people are safe after evacuating a fully engulfed residence in the 30 block of Cambridge Avenue Saturday morning.

According to Dayton Fire Department Captain Fred Haney, the occupants were safely outside when crews arrived on scene shortly after 1:25 a.m.

Haney said an altercation was reported earlier at the residence, but could not confirm if the incidents are related.

The fire remains under investigation.
