YELLOW SPRINGS — One person is dead after a shooting in Yellow Springs on Friday.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Livermore Street for a welfare check around 11:21 p.m. on Friday, officials said in an alert on the village’s website and social media.

When they got to the home, they found a person with apparent gunshot wounds. That person died from their injuries, a spokesperson for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) confirmed.
Officials confirmed a suspect in the shooting was taken into custody.
The Ohio BCI was requested to assist in the investigation.
“There is no threat to the community at large,” officials wrote.
