Anthony Preston was arrested and booked into jail Wednesday afternoon.
“Anthony stated he recorded (the victim) out of pure revenge and he knew it was wrong,” officers wrote in an incident report. “Anthony stated he deleted the video immediately without viewing it.”
A 911 caller reported that someone found videos of a girl they knew showering, going to the bathroom and changing clothes on a computer, according records obtained through a public records request.
Preston was arrested in the 700 block of North Downing Street, jail records show.
“There’s a good chance he's going to try and delete what’s on the computer,” the caller said.
Preston is accused of hiding a phone in a laundry basket in a bathroom to secretly record the victim, court records show.
“Anthony is then seen stepping back and checking the angle of the phone before exiting the bathroom while the phone is still recording,” police said in the report.
Police found two videos as part of their investigation, court records show.
Preston is charged with illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.
“He ultimately admitted that he did record this person,” Piqua’s Deputy Police Chief Jason Preston said. “The world of cameras and how easily things are recorded anymore, just be aware of your surroundings.”
His bond is set at $50,000 as he awaits a preliminary hearing.
