DAYTON — A plane has had to make an unscheduled landing at Dayton International Airport for the third time in a week.

United Airlines Flight 5199 departed from DAY to Miluwakee around 12:50 a.m. Thursday, according to a spokesperson for the airport.
The flight was diverted back to DAY around 1:50 a.m. due to light smoke in the cockpit.

Two crew members were on board.
The flight landed without incident, according to an airport spokesperson.
News Center 7 previously reported that on Dec. 31 a United Airlines flight from Charleston, West Virginia was diverted to DAY also due to smoke in the cockpit.
On Jan. 1 An American Airlines flight, operated by Air Wisconsin, that departed Dayton International Airport for Philadelphia was forced to return to Dayton shortly after takeoff due to a “mechanical issue.”
