PLEASANT HILL — After four days of celebrating Halloween activities in the Miami Valley, with weather delays and traditional beggar night events rescheduled due to rain, the annual festivities in Pleasant Hill were held Sunday afternoon.
After two hours of trick-or-treating, a short parade featuring the high school band was followed by costume judging.

The events are a joint effort of the Pleasant Hill Fire Department and the Village Council.
In America, Halloween festivities date back to colonial days. By the 1920s, Halloween had become a community-centered holiday, with parades and town-wide Halloween parties as the featured entertainment.
