Suspects found hiding in ceiling after break-in at Miamisburg business

MIAMISBURG — UPDATE @ 3:00 a.m: Two suspects are in custody after attempting to hide from officials in the ceiling of a Miamisburg business they broke into early Monday morning, according to a Miamisburg police sergeant.

Crews responded to the 1000 block of Byers Road around 1 a.m. on reports of a possible break-in with at least two individuals inside of the business, per initial reports.

K-9 units were requested to the scene to assist officials in capturing the men, that police had discovered were contained to an area of the ceiling in the facility.

Both men were eventually found nearly an hour after the start of the ordeal.

One of the suspects was transported to an area hospital on reports of chest pain after the capture.

Miami Twp. crews assisted with the incident, which remains under investigation.

Police activity is being reported at a business in the 1000 block of Byers Road in Miamisburg early Monday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the address just after 1 a.m. on reports of a breaking and entering incident, per initial reports.

In addition to officials, K-9 were also reportedly requested to the scene.
