Police: Dog shot after attacking Franklin officer euthanized

FRANKLIN — A dog that attached a Franklin police officer Saturday has been euthanized, according to police..

Officers were called Saturday evening to the rear of Waffle House in the 6800 block of N. Ohio 123 to check on the welfare of a dog in a vehicle. Officer Tiffany Wright knocked on a vehicle window, and when a woman opened the door, the dog jumped over her and attacked Wright, police said.

Wright suffered bite injuries to her forearms, her left thigh and left calf before she was able to shoot the dog.

The dog, a German shepherd mix, was taken to MedVet of Dayton, where it was euthanized with the family’s permission, police said.
