Police investigate ‘targeted’ shooting in Trenton

A 21-year-old male taken to the hospital Friday after being shot on Mars Drive, according to Trenton police.

Crews responded to the 400 block on a report of a felonious assault involving a fire arm.

When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower rear torso. He was transported to Atrium Medical Center for surgery.

Evidence suggests this was a targeted incident and not random, but Trenton police believe there’s no threat to public safety at this time.

The victim’s identity was not released and the incident remains under investigation.
