The man armed with a hunting knife who robbed a Dollar General in West Carrollton of cash is believed to have also robbed a Dollar General less than two miles away in Miamisburg.

Police believe the robber hit the West Carrollton location, 25 W. Alex Bell Road, and the Miamisburg store, 33 W. Alex Bell, about 10 to 15 minutes apart, West Carrollton Police Sgt. Alex Flynn said.

Police were dispatched to the West Carrollton location about 9:53 p.m. , he said.

The suspect is described this way, Flynn said:

  • He is in his 50s, about 5 foot 5 and of large build
  • He was dressed in camouflage, from head to toe
  • He wore a white mask or sheet over his face
  • He is believed to have left the scene in a vehicle

Flynn said police are still working to determine whether the man threatened a clerk at the West Carrollton store.

Because the descriptions of the suspect in both robberies are similar, Flynn said, "there is a likelihood they are connected."
