‘Someone is running through shooting,’ 911 call released of shooting in Dayton Wednesday

DAYTON — A newly obtained 911 call describes a witness’s account of a shooting near Gem City Car wash on North Gettysburg Avenue.

“I’m at the restaurant on Gettysburg and Free Pike, the Dragon City, and someone is running through shooting,” the caller said in the 911 call obtained by News Center 7 in a public records request.

The caller was asked by dispatch if the man was shooting in the restaurant, the caller said that he was not in the restaurant but running behind it.

“The bullet almost hit my car,” the caller said.

The call came in around 6:08 p.m. Wednesday.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records showed that a man was reported to have been shot just after 6 p.m on Wednesday.

The incident happened in the area of the Gem City Car Wash on North Gettysburg Avenue.

Dispatch records showed that the victim was taken to an area hospital by a third party and not by a medic.
