DAYTON — The Dayton Police Department is investigating what they consider the “suspicious disappearance” of a woman missing since the end of December.
According to Dayton police, Cierra Chapman was last seen in the early morning hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27 leaving her ex-boyfriend’s apartment in Trotwood.
Chapman was driving her silver Cadillac, SRX 2014, Ohio plate JVQ8612, when she left the apartment.

The vehicle was later recovered on Friday, Jan. 6, but Chapman was no where to be found, police said.
Chapman’s purse and other personal items were located inside of her vehicle.
Police say her disappearance at this time is considered suspicious.
Latisha Lofton is Chapman’s older sister, part of a large, extended family that she would never ignore.
“No matter what time of day, she’ll pick up, she’ll answer or call back,” Lofton said.
Lofton told News Center 7 it has been a nightmare for her and the family reporting Chapman missing and not hearing from her in any way.
“It’s almost like a panic attack or anxiety because like, no matter the time of day, she will pick up or call back,” Lofton said.
Dayton Police Major Brian Johns made a public plea Thursday morning, asking anyone with information about Chapman to come forward.
“No phone contact with her, we don’t have any financial records, where she had used any money, which is very, very odd,” Johns said.
Johns said Chapman’s ex-boyfriend has given a statement by phone.
“We have asked him to come down and speak to us, that hasn’t happened yet,” Johns said.
Lofton said Chapman has a 15-year-old son, just one more reason she would never drop out of sight without contacting that son or other family members
Anyone with information on Chapman’s whereabouts is contact Dayton Police Department (937) 333-COPS (937-333-2677) or Crime Stoppers at (937) 222-STOP.
