HUBER HEIGHTS — One person is in custody after a police chase on Thursday morning.

Huber Heights Police Chief Mark Lightner told News Center 7 that police were initially responding to a reported domestic dispute. Police later confirmed that the call came from the 6100 block of Cardiff Place.
The male suspect took off in a Chevy Silverado.
Responding officers found the suspect, who failed to stop for them. A short chase began but ended when the suspect lost control and hit a tree near Endicott Road.

The suspect ran off into the wood line. Officers saw the suspect with a gun in his hand, which led to a large law enforcement response.
News Center 7 has a crew in the area of Rip Rap Road and Powell Road and reports seeing Huber Heights officers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and at least one SWAT vehicle.
Police were able to take the suspect into custody in a wooded area off Powell Road.
The male reported minor injuries and was treated at a local emergency room before being taken to the Montgomery County Jail. He’s facing a failure to comply charge, but more charges are possible, Sgt. Josh Fosnight confirmed.
The case remains under investigation.
