A woman found unresponsive in a home on Brookville Pyrmont Road in Perry Twp. is dead and a homicide investigation has started, the Perry Twp. police chief said.

The cause of her death is unclear. Her name has not been released.

Police have Taylor Wesley Walter, 27, in custody, in the Montgomery County Jail.

Authorities apprehended Taylor Walter in a Meijer parking lot off North Main Street. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of murder and domestic violence, but has not been formally charged.

Police responded around 2:20 p.m. to the 13000 block of Brookville Pyrmont Road after receiving the call from a woman who said she found her best friend in the upstairs of the house.

“Her sister called me and told me get over,” the woman told 9-1-1 dispatchers. “She’s upstairs I yelled her name she did not answer.”

The 9-1-1 caller said it appeared the woman was bleeding from the head.

Police surrounded the home and several other buildings on the property with crime scene tape.
