In a 911 call, the caller tells dispatchers that a man has been shot.

“He’s not responding,” the caller tells dispatchers.

“He’s still moving,” he later adds.

The caller said the man was shot on his left side.

The dispatcher told the caller to have someone put pressure on the wound and perform CPR until medics arrived.

The man ended up dying from his injuries.

“We know there was a disturbance inside the residence. We do now know at this time what precipitated that disturbance,” Lt. Jeff Thomas with the Dayton Police Department said.

Thomas added that crews have responded to very few violent calls in the area.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, but Dayton police are interviewing individuals to better understand what happened.

“The event for individuals inside was unexpected. They were of course shaken by the incident,” Thomas said.

News Center 7′s Haley Kosik spoke with a woman who claimed to be the sister of the victim.

She said her brother had two kids and that he was shot by a woman he knew but police have not confirmed these details.

Police have not released the identity of the person killed or more details about what could have led up to the shooting.
