Victim of Piqua homicide identified

The victim of a Piqua homicide that took place Saturday afternoon has been identified.

Philip Tamar Howard, 37, was shot and killed in the 1300 block of Fairfax Avenue, according to Deputy Chief Marty Grove.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving a call from someone inside the apartment after the shooting took place, he said.

Howard was not a resident of the apartment building, but he was known to the other residents in the apartments.

Police have talked to everyone believed to be involved and they are not looking for any suspects.

The death is ruled a homicide, but no charges have been filed.

The incident is still under investigation.
