1 dead, 3 seriously injured after head-on crash on US-36 in Piqua

PIQUA — A head-on crash between two cars killed a woman and hospitalized a man and two children with serious injuries Saturday night.

Sheryl Huffman, 51, of Greenville has been identified as the driver killed in the crash by Piqua Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Eric Ramos Jr., 27, of Piqua has been identified as the hospitalized man by state patrol.

The two children’s identities have not been released at this time.

Huffman was driving a 2011 Toyota Rav4 westbound on US-36, a Piqua Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesperson stated in a press release.

Ramos Jr., 27, of Piqua was driving a 2011 Mercedes C300 eastbound on US-36, the spokesperson continued.

The two cars collided head-on just west of R. M. Davis Parkway.

Huffman was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, the spokesperson said.

Ramos Jr. and the two children on board were hospitalized after suffering serious injuries from the crash, the spokesperson stated.

Piqua Troopers, Piqua Fire, Piqua Police, Covington EMS, and Bradford EMS responded to the scene at approximately 9:50 p.m.

Piqua Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with assistance from the Patrol’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
