Man remains in serious condition after shooting at Dayton apartment complex Saturday

DAYTON — A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was shot at Dayton apartment complex Saturday afternoon.

Police were dispatched shortly after 3 p.m. to the Summit Square apartments on the report of a shooting, according to the Dayton Police Department.

Upon arrival, they discovered a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and initial indications revealed the shooting was the result of a disturbance between several people, according to the police department.

On Saturday, Lieutenant Stephen Clark with the Dayton Police Department told News Center 7 that initial information they received indicated a pedestrian approached a passenger in a vehicle and there was confrontation, at which point one of the individuals drew a weapon and fired shots.

Clark said the victim was struck in the chest and taken to a local hospital.

As of Monday evening, the victim remains in serious condition, according to police.
