MORAINE — Two suspects connected to a deadly shooting in Moraine have been taken into custody.
Moraine Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Gladstone Street at around 11:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. A suspect reportedly shot a 19-year-old male and fled from the scene, the victim’s family member told Moraine Dispatch during the 911 call. About 10 gunshots were heard.

When officers arrived, they were able to confirm that the teenager was killed after being shot in the head. He was declared dead at the scene, a Moraine Dispatch sergeant confirmed to News Center 7.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene hours after the shooting to allow for investigators to gather information.
The preliminary investigation showed that the suspect fired about 10 gunshots into the home from outside. The victim was inside at the time and was hit by one of the bullets, Moraine Police told News Center 7 Reporter Kayla McDermott at the scene.
The suspect drove away from the crime scene in a “black truck,” last scene on Gladstone Street. A “Be On the Lookout” (or also known as “BOLO”) was created and sent out to Montgomery County policing agencies to locate the suspect vehicle.

Authorities were eventually able to find the suspect vehicle; however, no suspect was found inside it.
Moraine Police said one suspect was taken into custody around 3 a.m., while another was apprehended around 6 a.m.
The reason for the shooting was still unknown.
Moraine Police led the investigation into the shooting.
