UPDATE: Second suspect in custody after Burger King robbery on Salem Avenue

TROTWOOD — UPDATE (6/28) @ 8:16 a.m.:

Trotwood Police have the second suspect in custody in connection to the robbery of the Burger King on Salem Avenue yesterday evening.

According to a press release, the first suspect has been described as a male in his late twenties and the second suspect is a male in his mid-thirties.

Both suspects were taken into custody for questioning without further incident or injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to the press release.

UPDATE @7:15 p.m.:

A Kettering Police K-9 helped crews locate a suspect after he reportedly robbed the Burger King on Salem Avenue.

The suspect was caught in a creek in the area of Shiloh Springs Road and state Route 49, not far from the Burger King.

Many other police departments were requested to help locate the suspect.

We will update with any new information on the incident including whether or not a second suspect has been located or believed to be involved in the robbery.

FIRST REPORT @ 6:15 p.m.:

Police are looking for two suspects who reportedly robbed the Burger King at 5341 Salem Avenue.

Two black males jumped over the counter and stole money, according to regional dispatch. There was no mention that weapons were used during the incident.

The suspects reportedly fled to a U-Haul parking lot nearby and crews are searching for them.

We are working to learn how much money the suspects stole and if police have been able to locate them.
