DAYTON — A second victim of a mass shooting in Dayton has died, Dayton police said Wednesday.
As reported on News Center 7 at 5:30, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the 18-year-old on Wednesday as Jhakavion Casey.
News Center 7 previously reported Casey was in life-threatening condition. His identity has not been released.
Dayton Police officers and medics were dispatched to the area of Home and Euclid Avenues around 12:50 a.m. last Monday after reports of a shooting.

Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman told News Center 7 that there was a large gathering at a vacant house when the shooting happened.
Seven people in total were shot. Two 17-year-old females, two 18-year-old males, and a 20-year-old female were also injured in this shooting.
22-year-old Donna Zile was killed in the shooting, as News Center 7 previously reported.
Dozens of shots were fired by a drive-by shooter, targeting an entire block. News Center 7 learned there were not one but two SUVs driving up the block with people inside firing weapons.
“We believe people from the SUVs were shooting and possibly people shooting from the actual party,” said Dayton Police Major Brian Johns.
Dayton police confirmed Wednesday that there were two SUVs, with several people inside involved in the drive-by. Officers also confirmed what this home video we obtained showed. Some people from the party fired back.
People who live in the Home Avenue neighborhood are devastated by a second death from the pop-up party.
“They can’t hang out, they can’t be children or teenagers or young people, without getting caught up in some mess like this,” said Vera Bozeman.
Police say they need help finding the people responsible for the deadly attack.
“We’re really asking the community for help, two lives lost, one is too many,” Johns said.
Dayton police say the other five people hit by gunfire will recover from their injuries.
