Resident remains jailed after police, SWAT callout at his Dayton home

UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m. (Jan. 10): JaTodd Terrell McMahon, 37, remains in jail on felony and misdemeanor charges following a SWAT callout focused on his West Second Street house in Dayton on Tuesday night.

He was arrested in the area of James H. McGee Boulevard and West Third Street while SWAT and several police officers were at his house.

McMahon is accused firing a weapon at his sister, according to police.

Bail has been set at $30,000 on single felony counts of assault and having a weapon as a felon, and single misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, discharge of a firearm and a traffic violation.

McMahon is scheduled to be in court on Thursday, according to Montgomery County Jail online records.

UPDATE @ 11:09 p.m. (Jan. 9):  The apparent standoff at the home in the 1500 block of West Second Street in Dayton has ended, and police have arrested a man they said fired a weapon at his sister during a domestic situation, a police lieutenant said.

She wasn't hit, the lieutenant said.

Police arrested her brother in the area of James H. McGee Boulevard and West Third Street, while police and SWAT were at the house -- where he lives.

He'll be detained pending the filing of a felonious assault charge, the lieutenant said, noting the man also has been sought on an arrest warrant out of Englewood.

UPDATE @ 9:42 p.m.:

Police are telling residents to stay inside their homes. Police are now using a bullhorn and sirens to coax the man out of the house.

INITIAL REPORT

There is a male believed to be holed up in a house in the 1500 block of West Second Street in Dayton.

According to police, the man is suspected of firing shots at a passing car before running into the house.

No injuries have been reported.

Several police officers and SWAT have surrounded the residence. A police Hostage Negotiation Team just arrived.

Police tell us this situation began sometime after 6:30 p.m.
