SUGARCREEK TWP. — UPDATE @ 10 a.m. (April 1):
The Kroger location in Sugarcreek Twp. has reopened after a power outage caused by Wednesday and Thursday’s high winds forced the store to close.
A Kroger spokesperson confirmed Friday morning that the store is now open and employees are working to restock product.
Perishable items were placed in refrigerated trucks during the outage, the spokesperson said.
Additional details were not released.
FIRST REPORT (March 31):
The Kroger on Cornerstone N Blvd. in Sugarcreek Township is closed this afternoon.
News Center 7 went to check around 4 p.m. and found a store representative standing outside of the store, telling customers that the store was closed.

A sign on the store’s door said, “Due to power outage store is temporarily closed. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
“Our Kroger Cornerstone location lost power due to inclement weather. All perishable items are stored on refrigerated trucks to ensure the safety of our products for customers,” a Kroger spokesperson said in a statement.
Limited power has since been restored.

Thousands of people across the Miami Valley have been without power today after strong wind gusts moved through the area. At the height of the outages around 12,000 people were without power across the region.
We’re working to learn when the store plans to reopen.
